Join Us for the Africa Think Tank Summit 2025

The African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) is proud to co-host the 2025 Africa Think Tank Summit alongside the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, under the timely theme: “From Taxation to Action: Bridging Policy and Implementation in Public Financial Management (PFM) in Africa.”

Convened in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC), the Summit is made possible through support from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and the World Bank Group (via the Africa Think Tank Partnership Project – ATTP). The Ethiopian Ministry of Finance is playing a central role in hosting and facilitating this high-level event. The Summit is co-organized with the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) which also complementing the ATTP Project.

This year’s Summit will convene over 300 leading African think tanks, government officials, private sector actors, civil society, and development partners to:

• Exchange insights on closing the gap between policy and implementation in public financial management (PFM)
• Explore cutting-edge issues including digital taxation, debt sustainability, gender-responsive budgeting, and citizen engagement
• Participate in ministerial sessions, high-level panels, deep-dive workshops, and PFM hackathons
• Engage in interactive training sessions, exhibitions, and dynamic side events
• Witness the official announcement of the launch of a new Book on think tanks and ,and research outputs

Together, we will explore strategies to strengthen accountability, enhance domestic resource mobilization, and harness digital innovation for fiscal sovereignty and inclusive economic growth across Africa.
