The overall objective of the IDEC is to strengthen the analysis and evaluation of economic and social policies through conducting studies on behalf of those responsible for the management of the national economy and other partners in capacity development. IDEC has the following specific objectives include. (i) Promoting a framework for the discussion of economic issues in the context of a new pluralistic society; (ii) Promoting the national capacity building in the area of economic policy analysis and social policies and (iii) responding to the requests of the Government's for research capacity.
The project goal is to contribute to national development processes in Burundi. The project specific objectives are to: (i) Enhance the institutional and human capacity in the public sector for improved economic policy analysis and management; (ii) Strengthen the Non-State Actors capacity in public policy analysis and assessment, (iii) and Strengthen IDEC institutional Capacity in order to improve its effectiveness in resource mobilization to address sustainability.
