The national Focal Point was established to provide a space for the government, private sector and civil society participation in planning, coordination including monitoring and implementation of capacity building initiatives in Uganda.
The activities of the Uganda NFP were coordinated by the National Planning Authority. Objectives were:
- Overseeing assessments of national capacities
- Coordinating national capacity building programs
- Overseeing the integration and coherence of national capacity building into the Poverty Eradication Action Plan (PEAP) and National Development Plan.
- Disseminating information on capacity building initiatives
- Ensuring effective utilization of national capacity and promotion of synergy and exchange at national, regional and international levels.
