At its 41st Regular Meeting, held from 31 August – 1 September 2009, the Executive Board of ACBF, approved a Grant of USD 1,800,000 in support of the East African Business Council (EABC) located in Arusha, Tanzania.
The overall goal of the project is to build capacity and empower EABC to effectively promote and influence the creation of a competitive business environment in the region. The project’s specific objectives are to:
- Enhance the human and institutional capacity of EABC;
- Stimulate private sector growth in the East African region; and
- Expand the private sector’s participation and opportunities in regional integration process in East Africa.
