The Lesotho Council of NGOs (LCN) was founded as an umbrella body for the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in May 1990. It acquired prominence as a potential development partner and in this respect, placed itself in a position to actively participate in the opportunities for greater participation in the country’s development process. In May 2007, the Executive Board approved a grant of US$ 1.2 million to support the activities of LCN.
The overall goal of the project was to facilitate the effective participation of NGOs in national efforts to address Lesotho’s development challenges, by enhancing their capacity to engage in government’s policy-making processes.
