In December 2006, the Executive Board approved a grant of US$ 1.7 million to Zambia’s Indigenous Small and Medium Business Associations Capacity Building Project. The project fitted into Zambia’s long-term goal that is incorporated in its Vision 2030 and the Country’s Fifth National Development Plan (2006 – 2010).
The goal of the project was to professionalize the voices and actions of the Zambia Chamber of Small and Medium Business Associations (CSMBA) and the Zambia Indigenous Business Association (ZIBA) so as to enable them to meet the needs of their constituents and effectively interface with the public sector in the private sector development policy-making process in Zambia.
